In April of 2010, the actress and her Grammy Award-winning husband, who is the son of actor Alan Thicke, welcomed their first child, a son named Julian Fuego.
Paula is in Miami this weekend promoting her latest films, at the 15th annual American Black Film Festival.

Paula also plays the female lead in the fourth Mission Impossible movie, which stars Tom Cruise and Hurt Locker actor Jeremy Renner.
She plays a young operative in the film which is due out in the UK on the 26th of December 2011.
In an interview last week with urban website theroot.com, Paula raved about working with Cruise.
'Working with Tom [Cruise] was the best experience,' she said.
'There is a reason he is one of the best movie stars ever, because he works so hard and he is so kind to everybody. I learned a tremendous amount working with him.'
